This is the second video that I see where people have dropped their Pro
gear for those New Sony’s Mirror-less Cameras!
I am looking into it myself…. Same reasons as you described !

Keep up the good work and I can’t wait to see what you have done with the
    new gear !

I love my a6000 but low light autofocus is a substantial problem. I will
probably go Nikon for shooting events that are not in sunlight. Otherwise
    I’m a6000 all the way.

I own Canon but I love the “Image Quality” I’m getting from my a6000. I
have not used my Canon since I got this little beast.

I have a A6000 that I use as well as my d800. I would love to divorce
Nikon but to replace my Nikon glass with equivalent Sony glass is going to
cost a fortune. Second hand value of my f2.8 collection is not going to buy
me new Sony replacements and there is hardly any second hand good Sony
lenses around. Add to that the problem of turning up to a paid job with a
small Sony camera when when half the guests have more expensive cameras and
I think in the pro world Nikon and Canon are still going to be around for a
    long time.
For anything non pro I use the A6000 almost all the time.

A while ago on a model shoot I pulled out the A6000 for a bit of fun and
the first thing the model said was.. Is that it???? that’s the camera
    your going to use ????

A few months ago I attended a wedding as a guest and brought along a
Panasonic FZ1000 for shits and giggles, Would you believe I was totally
blown away by its AF and the fact that I had 25-400mm built in and f2.8 at
the wide end and f4 at the long end?
For anything except low light performance this is a another of those
amazing cameras that is worth having a good look at.

Hey you just do what I did do I just buy old lens that are amazing in
taking photos and I just adapt them to me system. My favorites are a Canon
    FD lens 50mm 1.4 and a Hanimex 135mm 2.8. I just buy a 50mm lens 1.2 less
that 200 dlls that is ridicules.

Ok, I own both systems, Nikons D800, D90 and the lovely new A6000.
all great cameras, all have there place in the real world.

You say you sold all your Nikon pro gear and have switched solely to A6000
with mainly CRAP Minolta glass? (3 pieces for under $100??) ok, they are
cheap because , again, that glass is CRAP. Let me clarify, IT IS CRAP for

I DO NOT believe you that you take the gear to shoot weddings and other pro
    jobs! are you serious?
if you are going to need a “decent” zoom then what?? you are going to buy a
20-700 Song G for $2800??? or did Sony give you that lens?? end of Story ,
SONY HAS PAID YOU, don’t talk shit Mate, you are obviously a liar.

Thanks for your Youtube mentoring and advice (and many others), after
waiting for the right moment, I said screw the right moment and I took
the plunge…I’m a pro photographer…but turning pro at age 48 and
starting a new career is scary…and FUN! I am like a kid again with the
development of my business, like every good apprentice, I will steal many
of your ideas, techniques and hopefully develop my own unique way of adding
to our art…BTW, I am a Canon guy but I didn’t buy the full frame like I
had planned…I bought an A6000 and I’m getting the A7s as my full frame,
second camera and as my video camera…. my Canon backup cameras? A T3i and
a D20….The T3i takes awesome video but the so does the A6000! and so will
    the A7s ..

I got rid of my D700 and all my Nikon gear and I totally agree with your
points – coming from a big break after 35mm film, the first thing which
struck me with Nikon DSlr was the price……

“You want how much just to take a photograph ?”…….. the D3x was the
price of a brand new small car…….

Add to that the pro glass and you’re talking a small house……..

    No…. time for waking up.

Like I said I sold all my gear and am currently camera-less, but LIKE you
said, I have my mobile phone (Nokia do great camera phones).

I’m waiting for the a6000 replacement, which I believe will be announced in
the next few weeks and months.

    PS – I subscribed ;)

Is this a genuine endorsement, or were you paid by Sony for it?

I recently purchased an a6000 as well and I really like it, however there
are still some things I like better about my Canon.

i love my DSLR but I also like the Sony Nex7. My Canon 60D is a great
camera but a bit heavy. Sony E mount system is the best. I love the ease
of using the camera but the menu is suck.

One thing confuses me.. You say you have adapters for all the lenses, then
say you are selling off all your pro lenses and flashes. I don’t get it. I
have a canon 6d and I just traded in my Canon 60d that was my backup in
favor of an a6000. I like the 6000 but it does not replace my full frame. I
think I would replace the 6d with an a7II but now you get back to the big
    expenses again.

I totally agree the A6000 is that damn good!, Have been a Nikon user for a
few years now and bought myself an Sony A6000 a couple of months back since
then have sold all my Nikon gear because it just cant compete with the
A6000 in terms of versatility, quality, and speed. Ive found i dont even
use the viewfinder 90% of the time it’s easier just to shoot in live view
which i couldn’t of done with a DSLR handheld because of the shutter jolt
at low speeds, But i can shoot 1/5 or lower with the A6000 without a tripod
using just one hand and get razor sharp images, And the amount of
customization is ridiculous! I would recommend the A6000 to everyone to

This is getting too obvious with every photographer saying almost the same
words in the same order, sony sends out the script. I am sorry man I don’t
mean to be bashing you, and I think the A6000 is a good camera, but I
guess the impact of these types of videos and messages are a very big way
to increase sales. we all got to make a living.
