Microsoft Band Reviewed. “wow” is one word to describe it. But in a good or
    bad way? Find out.

Great detailed review, loved that you kept this critical and didn’t sugar
    coat it.

I thumbs down the review because you were mentioning misleading
information…but I will be subscribing. Near the end you mentioned
that there is no vibrating alarm when in fact the device will alarm/vibrate
if you set one up on the Band itself and all the scheduled alarms that you
set up in your Bluetooth connected phone. Also you went on about GPS and
Trails. GPS will be tracked no matter where you are outside…trails, road
or middle of the field somewhere. What I believe happened to the missing
trail segment of your run was that the GPS was not being picked up by the
Band due to completely covered up and/or the device losing battery charge.
I think you belittled the segment about the Find A Workout segment which a
think can be a really great resource for people who are just getting into
working out with wearables. You might not see it as a differentiator
but considering many fitness band out there does not have such a feature,
it could be the info to sway somebody to buy or not. I think the video was
pleasant to watch. Your video looks very professional and steady. It
doesn’t have to be a complete review but the content has to be accurate on
the features that you do decide to discuss.

If you don’t like Microsoft you shouldn’t be doing a review on this,
because it’s all a lie. This is the best band out there. it’s amazing how
other sites have said different than what you said, hmmm! lies.

*The first wearable I might actually buy*

I haven’t really been excited about the wearable market, neither fit bands
nor smart watches but the first product that’s actually interested me is
the Microsoft Band. The price point is really good, better than the
competition at the same time offering more (just compare it to the $250
FitBit). It’s not a perfect product, still needs to mature, but I think
the second generation one will possibly be the absolutely best wearable on
the market. I can totally see myself jumping on the next one, or this one
if I find a sweet $99 sale, which isn’t impossible when the MSRP is $199.
Hopefully MS pushes and comes out with a second generation this fall.

Very good review. I purchased one and personally I love it. My girlfriend
has the Garmin Forerunner 220 and she ended up buying the smartband because
    she likes mine so much.

    Hi Jim,
    Excellent review.
I’m in the market for a fitness band, and would like one with both GPS,and
    a Hear rate monitor.
but sms/email notifications and general smart watch capabilities arent that
    important to me

Would you have a preference between the microsoft band and the fitbit surge?
or could you recommend something else that would be good for running and

    great reviews!
    Many thanks

Yeah thanks for the great review. I don’t feel Microsoft has enovation to
make good hardware yet. They really lack true focus, I feel. I also believe
a great many people are getting into this field because it is the popular
thing todo, rushing products out to the market place just to be there. It
will be interesting to see who is left after a year. Someone may come along
with enovation that changes the whole game. I guess time will tell. Thanks

You should do a comparison video between the Microsoft Smartband, the
Fitbit charge HR and the Fitbit surge.
